Indian Summer
Here it is November but the weather doesn’t seem to indicate that autumn is over yet. Remember when we called this late summer-like weather Indian Summer. This was a real tribute to the Native Americans because something nice and good was attributed to them. The best historians could determine was that it was just called this because it was when Indians hunted. People in San Francisco especially enjoy and celebrate Indian Summer because it is a time of weather that comes in the midst of rain and fog. Whatever it means, it’s nice to enjoy the “good stuff” from God….And pay tribute to Native Americans.
The end of the month comes with our remembering to be grateful. Who knows it may still be Indian Summer and we can remember all that God gives us especially the nice weather to enjoy life. Don’t wait until Thanksgiving to be mindful of something as nice as Indian Summer.
