Spiritual Reflection

Tomorrow at Mass we will celebrate the memorial of saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus.  And it leads me to reflecting on friendships.  These saints were close friends of Jesus and He enjoyed spending time with them.  He celebrated these friendships and treasured them.  The scripture for today, especially the Gospel, talked about how the kingdom of heaven could be compared to treasures…not unlike the treasure of friendships.

So whether it’s in your family or with a great group of golfers who celebrated their friendships, that treasure is worth celebrating.  Take the time to remember and celebrate.  Maybe you can contact a friend you haven’t been with in awhile.  Wonder if it is your boss?  So Becky asked her boss for a raise and told him that she was doing the work of three people and getting one person’s salary.  He told her he couldn’t give her a raise but if she told him who the other two people were, he would fire them!
