Halloween and All Saints Day
Tomorrow is a special day for us, especially for children. I enclose a picture of why it is so special to children, it’s Halloween! Putting on a costume, scaring people, and getting some goodies but it is also a preparation for a great feast day. The word itself…Halloween meaning the Eve of all Hallows, the eve of celebrating All Saints.
So it is a feast day for everyone, to remember all those who have died for their faith, for those who have inspired others and through their intercession received a miracle. And we remember those declared a saint but also all those who have not been designated but surely are saintly. The Gospel for the feast describes so many who are saintly as Jesus presents the “Beatitudes”, Blessed are they. It’s nice that the following day we remember all those who have passed away and are on the road to the Kingdom.
