Fr. Bob’s Spiritual Reflection–6/26/2024
St. Cyril of Alexandria
Today’s gospel has a stern warning from Jesus as He said to his disciples…”Beware of false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing but underneath are ravenous wolves.” The warning is that by our fruits we will be known. A good tree will not bear bad fruit, nor will a bad tree bear good fruit. Just talking will not cut it…but our good actions will make it happen.
I’m calling your attention to the saint we honor tomorrow, St. Cyril of Alexandria. Little is known of him except for his writings and he was a master at that. And I appreciate how he wrote in defense of and celebration of the Incarnation. To make Jesus time here so important encourages people to read more about Him and celebrate His presence. I so appreciate people who let me see the beauty of Jesus and the Eucharist. St. Cyril is the patron of scholars and theologians.
