Spiritual Reflection

I chose the picture of our shrine to our Blessed Mother in Perryville, MO.  So many people come to this special place searching for Mary’s help.  As we begin a new year, many people will make resolutions for 2024, hoping that when 2025 arrives the mission was completed and resolutions achieved.  I decided not to make a resolution but to focus on goals.  Dr. Lacy Hall says that when we make goals that are desirable, measurable and achievable, we will have a much better chance at success and of course less stress.

What I am planning for 2024 is about balance.  Dr. Hall says that there are basically four quadrants in our life: prayer, work, leisure and relationships.  When there is balance of those four we are much more at peace and can relax in the presence of God and that is defined as joy.  The ultimate goal is 25% for each of the quadrants.  What do you think?  Possible or not?  Well that’s why it is a goal.  Good luck to you whether you make a new year’s resolution or not.  I pray 2024 is filled with Joy, Peace and Love!
