Fr. Dick’s Spiritual Reflection–11/11/2020
It’s important and heartwarming to say Thank You
Today, I have two thoughts for reflection. The first is on this day how important it is to say thank you to the countless number of Veterans who have served this country so well. How heartwarming it is to remember the sacrifices they have made and the members of the armed forces who continue to do this on our behalf. So thank you!
Secondly, my thoughts are with the heroes in the nursing homes. I am always moved by the sacrifices they make. When these men and women offer their pain, suffering, inconveniences, lack of privacy and independence to God, we are blessed with God’s graces. One of the difficulties of Bob and I not being able to conduct parish missions is that we don’t have the opportunity now to tell them in person thank you for their ministry. We are blessed because they earn graces for us through their patient suffering. So, we thank you from afar. We look forward to the time when we can visit them and tell them how much we appreciate their gifts.
