Winter Celebrations
This is the time for all the Winter Celebrations. In Amsterdam, there is the Light Festival; in Scotland, they have three days of street partying to end the year; Norway has their ice music festival with all the instruments in ice; The Netherlands has their 60 locations of diving into the ice-cold water; and Belgium their famous snow and ice sculpture shows.
But none of them are better than seeing a beautifully decorated Church with the spotlight on the Christmas manger with Jesus, Joseph, Mary, the angels and shepherds. We are not too far from that special day. So if you can’t make it to Amsterdam, Scotland, Norway, the Netherlands or Belgium, just stop by a church a few days before Christmas and take in the beauty of that manger. Or better yet, plan to visit your church by attending Mass on Christmas Day. Now that is truly a wonderful winter celebration!
