Summertime and the Living is Easy
In a world that seems so divided, I think there is one thing that we can agree on: we look forward to the season of summer. It usually means vacation, no school, trips, baseball, golf, picnics, swimming, gardens, farmers anticipating good harvest, no snow, flowers, beautiful sunsets and so many other blessings.
When the living is easy as the song goes, do I take a vacation from my faith? Is my practice of faith taking a break? Is my focus on everything but my faith and God? It is a reminder that God is in charge of the seasons. With more opportunities to see God in creation, its beauty and seamless structure of growth, hopefully I remember to thank the ONE who provides me with such a beautiful world of creation.
I pray you have one of those special, peaceful and joyful summers enjoying all the beautiful expressions of the season. We are truly blessed and it calls for a renewed thanksgiving from each one of us.
