Spiritual Reflection

Last Friday I watched the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics and was very impressed.  Outside of the one aspect of their parody on the last supper, it was an amazing show.  Paris, the athletes from 200 countries on boats cruising on the Seine River, the entertainers, historical sights, the lights all added to an enjoyable evening.  I was impressed with all the creativity and talent displayed for all to see.  France has always been our ally, and it made me think of Normandy and how the French to this day honor the 10,000 men and women buried in Normandy.

I concluded that this evening showed the best of Paris and France in planning and honoring the beginning of a very special and important event of competition.  I only hope that the US and Los Angeles can do the same in 2028.  But for now, let us congratulate and compliment our friends in France for letting us, for a moment or two, forget about wars, disagreements and differences, and what’s wrong with the world but relish the fact that we all belong to one family….GOD’S!
