Well, here’s where we are. From my point of view every parish is doing something completely different by way of re-opening, some very creative I might add. Some people are going out regularly to meet with others. Many are still staying home. Half the people are wearing masks, half aren’t. Many are social distancing, many aren’t. I’ve noticed that even the experts disagree as to what is best.
So what are the reactions of people? Well, many are angry and super critical of the rest. But that will get us nowhere. The real answer is respect. Every person has his or her reason for doing what they do, or no reason at all. But since really, no one knows what is best, how about just doing what you think is best. But think it through, and respect those who disagree with you.
After all, respect is a big part of love, and as Scripture often says, “Love one another as I have loved you.”
