Fr. Michael’s Spiritual Reflection–12/30/2020
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”
I wish I had a nickel for every time I heard “I’ll really be glad when 2020 is over. It’s been a terrible year”.
That may be true in some cases. But it’s been a great year for learning and emphasizing important life lessons in my own case. For example I learned that it’s good to slow down, be alone and take time to reflect on things and get a grip on myself. Re-creation we call it.
I learned to cook, in a very rudimental way for sure. I became dependent on others for a few things. I learned to really appreciate modern technology and I enjoyed the extra time I had for reading, praying and meditating.
I learned how very adaptable human nature is and I came to appreciate those who went the extra mile for all of us.
Like it says in Ecclesiastes 3, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”.
I look forward to 2021 for sure. But I appreciated many things about 2020. “
